No dreamer is too small, no dream is too big

We receive donations large and small, whether in the form of clothing or money. We are very grateful for every donation, no matter how small.

However, there are two stories of two people who touched the heart with the way they collect donations and thus want to help people on the other side of the world. We want to share their little story with you.

Angels and a box

Claudia, my former coaching mentor & former finance director of the association, and her daughter Ronja have been supporting this project for years. One day her 9 year old daughter decided to collect money for the children in the Philippines.
She bought some decoration material, painted a wooden box and wrote “Philippines” on it. This is the collection box for the children, she explained to her mother.
Ronja made little angel pendants and sold them for 2€ at school and with the adults.
When adult visitors came, she asked right at the front door if they also wanted to contribute something to her goal and if they wanted to donate money for the Philippines. When visitors were in the house for a seminar with Claudia, the collection box always made the rounds among the participants. And every now and then, someone would also add a banknote.

It was in December, just before Czarina was about to go on vacation to the Philippines, Ronja proudly showed her piggy bank. They counted the money she saved: in 8 months Ronja saved 170€!

Even at a young age, she showed the strength and perseverance to want to help others. She achieved her goal! She was able to bring joy to children:

We were able to cook lunch for 40 elementary school children. And the day before, we also cooked and distributed spaghetti for 70 children.

THANK YOU, Ronja! You are a little angel!

Coffe, cake or soccer shirt?

Czarina works as an office assistant in the healthcare sector in Frankfurt. Her boss, with whom she has worked for many years, was enthusiastic about the relief work she always did while she was on vacation in the Philippines. He even suggested to turn her projects into a non-profit association. It had had its start-up problems, but after a year of correspondence with the authorities, the non-profit association was recognized and registered in December 2018.

In order for the association to gain some notoriety, he helped for a publication about the non-profit association in the internal employee magazine.
Hasan works in the same company. He has been working for this company in production for more than 30 years. During his lunch break, Hasan read about “Rice&Books.org.” The message “Anyone can help anyone” touched his heart. He immediately called up Czarina in her office and promised to support her.

Hasan is neither famous nor rich, but he helps everyone and everywhere with his generosity and love. He mobilizes friends and family to support others, whether it’s for an unemployed Turkish actor who can’t pay for his young daughter’s hospitalization or Turkish families suffering from sudden unemployment. He always has an ear for his fellow human beings, both at work and in his private life. And when there is great need, he mobilizes his large circle of friends and acquaintances to a fundraising campaign so that this person or family can be helped.

His son is passionate about playing soccer.  During these games Hasan sold drinks and cakes. In addition, he asked famous soccer players to donate their soccer shirt and sold them on the Internet. Hasan collected more than 1300€ within 8 months!!! Congratulations, for this remarkable sum and outstanding achievement. THANK YOU very much for your effort and work, Hasan.
